Frequently asked questions

WHAT IS NATUROPATHIC MEDICINE?

To learn more about Naturopathic medicine, see About Naturopathic Medicine.

WHAT DOES AN APPOINTMENT WITH YOU LOOK LIKE?

First appointments are 60 minutes long and include a thorough health history and discussion of your health goals. Oftentimes we discuss labs and tests that might be helpful based on your case. At the end of the first visit, you will have a treatment plan to begin working with. Follow-up visits are 30-40 minutes and are often done within a month, and at regular intervals beyond that, as needed. All appointments are available both in-person and via telemedicine.

CAN YOU BE MY PRIMARY CARE PROVIDER?

Yes, if you live in the state of Oregon I can serve as a primary care provider and perform preventative screening exams. If you prefer to have another provider for primary care, I am happy to serve as a naturopathic specialist providing specialty care. For all children, I require primary care elsewhere and will act as specialty care.

DO YOU TAKE INSURANCE?

If you are an Oregon resident, I accept the following health insurance plans: Aetna, Cigna, Care Oregon, Medicaid (Care Oregon and Healthshare only), MODA, PacificSource, Providence, and United Healthcare. Please check with your insurance plan for specific coverage details - It is your responsibility to confirm with your exact plan whether services are covered. I provide a cash discount if not using insurance. All consultations for those living outside of Oregon are not covered by insurance.

WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?

Last-minute cancellations are often hard to fill.  Late cancelations within 24hours or missed appointments will result in a fee as described in the financial policies.
